About Consulting

Silvershift® offers consulting services representing clients with respect to entrepreneurship, intellectual asset management, live events and the operations aspects of running a business (large or small).

Our consulting work grew as a natural progression of the journey of our founder, Joe Bogdan, who became a progressively senior lawyer and, then, an operations executive. During the course of his career, he has confronted the multi-faceted challenges faced by operations executives in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors, coupled with more than two decades’ work in the high-level practice of law. As a result of working in these trenches, we learned to combine an everyday, common-sense approach to solving practical business problems with the intellectual discipline of world class legal training and experience. Our "street smarts" approach to consulting engagements stems from our blue collar roots, which allow us to be particularly adept at devising creative solutions to the difficult, day-to-day business issues that often confront our clients.

Silvershift® offers the services of Joe Bogdan, who has been an executive in businesses ranging in size from venture-backed and early-stage firms to those that are publicly traded and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. For larger engagements, we have access to a network of additional skilled advisors, ready to provide both subject matter expertise and heavy-lifting personpower, to ensure that our clients’ problems always receive the effective representation they need and deserve.

Services – Consulting

Entrepreneurship: Silvershift® provides both the budding and the experienced entrepreneur with business consulting and counseling, funding knowhow and other advice relating to every aspect of starting, operating and growing a business and the steps necessary to finance it.

Intellectual Asset Management: Silvershift® has practiced Intellectual Asset Management since before it was called that. Our services maximize financial results for clients seeking to develop and execute intellectual property strategies, strengthen and monetize intellectual property portfolios, and establish and implement intellectual asset management best practices. Our approach to intellectual asset management projects takes into consideration our clients' business, law, marketing, and product development interests to provide a systematic and comprehensive view of the full lifecycle of their intellectual properties, from creation to protection to monetization to retirement.

Live Events: Silvershift®’s history in live event consulting dates to the 1980s on the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles, where we owned and operated the "rent-a-roadie" company known as Abuse-a-Crew. Fast forward 20+ years, to maturity in the live events business, running all aspects of Business Affairs for World Wrestling Entertainment, which produces and presents 300+ shows each year around the world in venues ranging from civic centers to stadiums. We help clients with their live event needs, including budgeting, vendor selection and management, location selection and contracting, talent relations, production scheduling, and above all, risk management and damage control.

Operations: Silvershift®’s experience in the operations field includes everything from implementing Six Sigma quality control processes on product assembly lines, to designing and manufacturing consumer products, to improving warehousing efficiency. Our approach to operations consulting embodies a disciplined, procedures-oriented and data driven approach and methodology to eliminate errors in any process for any product or service. With this approach, we assist clients in remediating inefficiencies, while in the process cutting costs (which, of course, is the same as adding revenue).
